The Tiskre residence is located in close proximity to the Muti summer manor, on the outskirts of Tallinn, near Tabasalu. In the vicinity of the property, the so-called “manor” servant’s house and main building have been preserved.
The exterior architecture of the building is calm, with a unified and precise form, large window openings, and gable roofs in four directions. With its simple square-shaped floor plan, the house is divided into four zones: a public living area, an entrance area, private bedrooms, and an outdoor terrace embraced by the building. The main unifying element throughout the house is the high vaulted ceiling, which spans all the rooms and creates a cohesive experience for those moving within the interior spaces.
The interior architecture was designed in collaboration with the client in a symbiotic process. The art-loving, bohemian-inspired interior design provides the residents with a sense of security and spaciousness in their home. Oversized windows become an integral part of the interior and frame the surrounding nature, reminiscent of a manor park, blending the primeval environment with the building’s interior as if it were a work of art.
