The Tallinn XVI Graphic Triennial, “Literacy – Illiteracy”, explores the relationship between visual art and reading skills, as well as text and language in the 21st century, characterized by the sharp competition between digital publications and the book format. The exhibition was installed at the Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn.

This concept also serves as the main guiding idea for the exhibition design, where a long white sheet of paper unfolds along the elongated Kumu hall. This meandering, folding paper-like canvas flows through the space, creating individual areas for each artwork, with every fold and its shape contributing to the overall composition.

The exhibition consists of dark rooms showcasing short films and large white vertical and horizontal surfaces displaying diverse graphic works.
